Walter Benn Michaels ist Professor für englische und amerikanische Literatur an der Universität von Illinois in Chicago. Er hat u.a. die Bücher »Our America: Nativism, Modernism and Pluralism« (1995), »The Shape of the Signifier: 1967 to the End of History« (2004) und »The Beauty of a Social Problem: Photography, Autonomy, Economy« (2015) veröffentlicht.
Mit dem hier vorliegenden, »The Trouble With Diversity« (2006/2016), erscheint erstmals ein Buch von ihm in deutscher Übersetzung.
